There were many big performances out there today and a lot of close matches.

Thanks again to Archie & Tom stepping up to play in the scratch team with Archie finally being rewarded for all his good play during the year and absolutely clobbering his opponent to take the win 7&6.

It was a day for remarkable performances in the scratch team. Justin coming back after injury fought hard from 4 down with 4 to play to get an amazing half. Tom also stretched his opponent the whole way getting a hard-earned square giving away plenty of shots stepping up into the scratch team again.

And Yutaro, with an amazing act of sportsmanship, offered his opponent a square in the fairway of the last hole after someone yelled out during his opponent’s approach shot. Yutaro, you really are a class act and we are all very proud to have you as part of the Southport team this year. You play golf the right way.

The Blue Team had some good results too, with Josh’s opponent holing a good putt on the last to force a square. Josh, I think this was your best season yet. Playing scratch when needed and taking on the top of each team in handicap is not easy. Archie P also had his best result of the year and got better every game he played in his first season. Love having you in the team Archie!

The Red Team had some amazing play too, 2 more newcomers to the team this year in Eric & Ben going very close but getting nipped in the final holes. I really thought today was going to be your day Ben! Special thanks to Shiv for caddying for everyone he could after his match ended.

Thanks everyone for an amazing season. We’re going to continue with the Friday afternoon sessions for a few more weeks for anyone who is interested in having a hit. The Southport Juniors Christmas Party will be held on Sunday, 7 December. Please all make a big effort to make it to that day so we can get some photos of the team, hand out some prizes and swap stories from the season.
