Firstly, thank you to all our wonderful players, you all played your heart out and should be proud of your efforts.
\nThank you to all the parents who stayed and watched as well as those of you who dropped kids off & picked them up. Thanks to Tom\u2019s mum, Kylie, for baking brownies! This is a proud Southport tradition that goes back many years.<\/p>\n
The results didn\u2019t go our way today, but we\u2019ll be back next week to chalk up our first win of the season.<\/p>\n
The results were:
\nSCRATCH TEAM \u2013 lost 3.5 to 2.5
\nSome amazing play by newbie Byron & re-instated Junior, Mark to get wins on the board. Yutaro was unlucky not to win the last hole and finished all square. Our fearless #1, Max, took on a very tough competitor going down in a close match. And our Scratch team ring-in\u2019s, Sam & Archie played their hearts out stepping up a grade.<\/p>\n
BLUE TEAM \u2013 lost 6 to 0
\nSome close games going down the last with Tom & Oscar both losing 1 down. Rohan also went close to a win losing 2 & 1, with other games being more 1-sided with Josh losing 8 & 6, James losing 5 & 3 and Zack losing 4 & 3. Strong play by all players against a strong and shall we say boisterous Emerald Lakes team.<\/p>\n
RED TEAM \u2013 lost 6 to 0
\nSome close games at the top of the order from Oscar & Lucas losing 3 & 2 and 4 & 3 respectively. Eric, Archie P & Ben were all playing their first match play games and went down valiantly 5 & 4, 8 & 7 and 5 & 4. Shiv also played well going down 6 & 4.<\/p>\n
Next week we play at Emerald Lakes. The Scratch & Blue Teams tee off at approx. 10.00am and the Red Team approx. 2.30pm (yes, you read that correctly\u2026)<\/p>\n
